SocialZen

Privacy Policy

Last updated 25 August 2026

SocialZen collects nothing. There is no account, no server and no analytics. This page explains what that means in detail, and what the app does with the permissions it asks for.

The short version. Everything SocialZen knows about you stays on your device. We operate no servers, so there is nowhere for your data to be sent even if we wanted it. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.

What we collect

Nothing. SocialZen contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK and no advertising SDK. It makes no network requests of its own.

What the app stores on your device

DataWhere it lives
Which platforms you enabled, and your content filter choicesOn the device, in the app's own storage
Sleep Mode window, daily limits, schedulesOn the device
Time spent inside SocialZen, per platformOn the device
The username of an account you sign in to, if the site displays itOn the device, used only to open your own profile
Your logins to Instagram, YouTube and the restIn the system web view's own cookie store, exactly as in a browser. SocialZen cannot read them.

On iOS, if you enable iCloud sync in Settings, your preferences (filters, limits, schedules) sync between your own devices through your private iCloud account. That data goes to Apple, not to us, and we cannot see it.

Permissions, and exactly what each is used for

Accessibility service (Android)

This powers the feature where opening a blocked app opens SocialZen's filtered version instead. Android is the only source of "which app just came to the foreground", and this is the only API that provides it.

Usage access (Android)

Used to show how long the unfiltered apps were used, so the Insights screen can show a before-and-after. It is read on demand, displayed on your device and never transmitted. The app works fully without it.

Screen Time / Family Controls (iOS)

Used to redirect the apps you choose. Apple's design means SocialZen receives only opaque tokens — the app is never told which apps you selected, and cannot find out.

Notifications

Used for the wake alarm and limit reminders you configure. Sent locally by your device; there is no push server.

The websites SocialZen opens

SocialZen renders Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, X and Snapchat in a web view, with the addictive surfaces removed. When you use them, you are using those services directly and their privacy policies apply to what they collect. SocialZen does not sit between you and them, does not proxy your traffic, and cannot read your messages or your credentials.

The app does block requests to a list of known advertising and tracking domains, which means less data about you reaches those third parties than would in an ordinary browser.

Purchases

SocialZen Pro is sold through the App Store and Google Play. Those stores handle payment and tell the app only whether a subscription is active. We never see your name, card or billing address.

Children

SocialZen is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
